David Lynch just emailed me!
Ok, so the email actually came from somebody (most likely not David Lynch) at his website, but I still thought it was pretty cool! The email was sent to promote David Lynch’s new line of coffee products. I really appreciate this marketing move on the part of the David Lynch brand because all Lynch fans know of his unsurpassed obsession with coffee. The unorthodox filmmaker even has an assistant whose sole job is preparing cup after cup of coffee!
Now Lynch has released his own line of coffee products called David Lynch Signature Cup. When Lynch thought to put a product on the market with his name on it, he didn’t go for a chip clip, a calculator, a tape measure or some other random tchotchky. He went for a product that is completely and entirely in line with his brand.
Why would your bank or credit union do anything different? It’s time to put a stop to the endless supply of branded pens and stress balls and pay attention to the personality of your brand before putting your name on a product. You will have fun with it, and the meaning it adds to your brand identity will be invaluable.
