Wrist Promptly Slapped–Awesome!
It only took about 10 minutes to get our wrists slapped at MAC this morning. After all, we did kinda hijack the event, taking a lot of the attention…even if just for a few minutes. Oh wait, that was the point. Mission accomplished.
So what was it that garnered so much attention? I think it was probably the girl wearing the space helmet. Walking around the exhibitor hall. Getting lots of odd looks. Fielding plenty of “what’s the deal with the helmet?” questions, but smiling back mysteriously instead of answering. Jessica overheard one of our competitors say, “I’m gonna follow the freak around with my camera.” Excellent–mission accomplished.

Buzz works, people. You tap into elements of human nature that are undeniable. When you surprise and fascinate people, they can’t help but pay attention. In our case, they even knew that it was marketing…but didn’t know who it was for. That added fuel to the fire. And it worked.
